Staten Island Ferry – Whitehall Terminal

Staten Island Sign Whitehall Terminal

In the early fall I had some things to take care of in lower Manhattan and decided to bring along my camera in case I spotted anything interesting. Stepping out of the Whitehall Street Station, I looked up and noticed that I was standing in front of Whitehall Terminal and decided that I would return to take pictures after completing my errand.

The East Side Bridges of New York City

DUMBO Brooklyn Bridge 013

My recent trip to DUMBO marked my first visit to the Brooklyn Promenade. The Promenade is a short strip located right along Brooklyn’s waterfront and is accessible via Brooklyn Bridge Park and small side streets. It offers really nice views of Lower Manhattan and the three lower East Side Bridges (Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and Williamsburg Bridge).

A Walk Around Central Park

Central Park - The Mall & Literary Walk

In the midst of a metropolis of glass, steel, and stone lies a lush and vibrant green space. Central Park is a well maintained and beautifully manicured park located in the center of the island of Manhattan. There are fountains and statues to be seen, bridges and paths to be explored, and a variety of arts and activities to be enjoyed.

The Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge - The Runway

Although Brooklyn and Manhattan are separated by a narrow body of water, they have different very different personalities. The easiest way to appreciate the difference would be to tour Manhattan, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and then explore Brooklyn. You’ll begin to get a sense of the difference when you get about half way on the bridge and have a clear view of both boroughs.
