Challah French Toast

Baked Challah French Toast

This is my current basic challah French toast recipe. I hope you enjoy it. I don’t generally care for syrup on my French toast (or waffles or pancakes) but a bit of fruit, fruit syrup, and/or whipped cream are nice touches.

Around the holidays I decided to try making chocolate mousse. I went online, found a few recipes, and decided to give it a shot. I mixed everything together, put the “mousse” in the fridge, and waited for it to thicken.

It never did.

I’d planned on making challah French toast and figured that I might as well put the “mousse” (that never was) to good use as a custard. Thus chocolate challah French toast was born.

Clam Chowder

I went grocery shopping, cleaned meat and veggies for stocking away in the freezer, and prepared my meals for the week of Christmas over the course of about two days. As a result, I had little interest in spending a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for the New Year so I decided to keep things even more simple.

Baked Chicken with Garlic Smashed Potatoes, Popovers, & Salad

After Thanksgiving I develop a severe disgust towards turkey that lasts until a few weeks before the next Thanksgiving. When Christmas rolled around this feeling extended to most other typical fancy holiday meats (ham, roasts, etc.) so I decided to limit the meat and make things as simple as possible.
