The Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum on the National Mall is home to various exhibits that chronicle the history of airplanes and the development of space vehicles. It’s quite a bit like a larger and more varied version of New York’s Intrepid Museum. There are your standard gallery type exhibits along with airplanes suspended from the ceiling and several clusters of airplanes and spacecrafts from different time periods in the museum’s central galleries.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the National Air & Space Museum on the National Mall and hope to visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA.

I have a notoriously bad habit of not jotting down the name of the items I photography at museums so a very special thank you to the wonderful museum staff members that identified the aircrafts and provided their names more than a year after my visit.
