New York City’s East River

I’ve thought about visiting the beach to take pictures but never really made it a priority because I can’t swim and I don’t like sand. Not to mention, I’ve been a bit skeeved about the beach since learning that cruise ships dump human waste in the ocean. I had a chance to take a few pictures of the East River’s small waves crashing against the Brooklyn shore during my visit with Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk to the Brooklyn Promenade in DUMBO. As I dodged the spray of questionably brownish water, I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the waves and regretted not making it to the beach this summer. Thankfully, I have these photos to tide me over until next summer when I will make it my mission to take photos of proper waves, poo water be damned.
Its kind of weird looking back at these photos of calm waters after yesterday’s hurricane/superstorm.
