Italian Desserts at Arthur Avenue Market Pasty Shop

Until about the age of 12, I wanted to be a baker or pastry chef. The idea of mixing doughs, filling cases with appetizing treats, and creating small plates of sugary goodness seemed like fun (and still seems like fun). To this day, I still love to visit bakeries and admire trays of pastries and cakes arranged beautifully in display cases and shop windows. In the spring of 2011 I visited Arthur Avenue (sort of The Bronx version of Little Italy) on an outing with one of my photography groups and had a chance to take photos of some pastries that were on display in the Arthur Avenue Market.
